Training for the Road Transport Industry
ADR Refresher Courses
Background
We are an accredited provider of ADR courses, registered with the Department for Transport #N291 and a member of the National Dangerous Goods Training Consortium (NDGTC). We are accredited to provide courses for both Packages, Tanks and Classes 2,3,4,5,6,8 and 9.
Content
The length of the training course is determined by the number of modules required and minimum time standards are laid down by the Examining Board who verify and administer the ADR scheme.
The minimum period of time for a course is currently two days. This includes the core module, packages or tanks module and one class. To complete all the classes takes three days.
Delegates can only refresh modules currently listed on their certificate. Additional modules must be completed on an initial course.
Examinations
Each course culminates in a number of multiple choice exam papers depending on the modules selected. The candidate must achieve a 70% pass in each paper. To obtain an ADR Vocational Training Certificate requires passes in at least the Core, Packages or Tanks, and one class module.
The exams are similar to the full initial course and so candidates will need to feel happy with the depth of refresher training in order to succeed. Failure of a module on a refresher course will require attendance on an initial course for the failed module(s).
Where this can not be completed prior to the expiry of the original certificate, a complete initial course must be taken for all modules. Refresher training can be taken at any time in the final year of validity and the new certificate will expire five years after the original expiry date
